My AIM password was reset earlier this week with no way to retrieve it... so I had to make a new AIM screenname.

It's EmilyChapelle (I'm so creative).

Lost my buddy list too so if we IM, please add me to your list and comment here w/your screenname so I can re-add you. *sigh*

Also, I had everyone set up with "alias"es so I probably won't remember anyone's real screen names. So even if you think I remember yours, I probably don't. Please remind me of what it is!

Use the first letter of your last name to find an answer for each "question"... kind of like playing scattergories.

1. What is your last name?   Chapelle (so I'm going to try doing CH instead of just C)
2. A four Letter Word:  Chum
3. A Boys Name:   Charles
4. A Girls name: Charlotte

5. An Occupation:  Chef

6. A Color:  Chartreuse
7. Something you wear:   Chain

8. A Beverage:  Cherry Kool-Aid
9. A Food: Cheese

10. Something found in the bathroom: Change? if it falls out of your pocket? Lame answer.

11. A place:  Cheyenne, WY
12. A Reason for being late:  Changing a tire

13. Something you shout: Cheers!

Inspired by my yard sale yesterday, I'm holding an lj yard sale for some handmade stuff that I still have hanging around. I am tired of these things and hauling them around, but they are totally new and perfectly fine... nothing wrong with them. I kept lowering prices and asking for "make me an offer" but now I'm giving you, my lj buddies, the option to buy them at "yard sale" prices... basically just covering the cost of materials. Let me know if you have any questions about the items.
things back here. )

If you buy anything, please plan to pay actual shipping (no cost of shipping materials/packaging though). You can paypal twice - once for just the products, and again after I ship them and let you know how much shipping cost... unless you can think of an easier way to do that.

Making this a public post so everyone can see it, and please tell your friends or post a link to it on your lj if you think anyone would be interested... I need to move on to just stationery! Thanks in advance!

1. What did you have for breakfast today? Not what you wish you had or should have had... what did you actually have?

2. What do you usually have for breakfast on weekdays? Are weekends any different? What are your typical breakfast choices?

Happy new year! Joyful Abode will be going through some exciting changes in 2009. I’m going to be focusing on expanding my illustration designs and creating more stationery kits, military stationery, all-purpose cards, and recipe cards.

So during the first part of this year, I’m going to be clearing out discontinued items… starting with this sale! All non-illustration items are 40%-60% off, so grab them now before they’re gone!

I’ll also be selling lots of supplies (mostly sewing, but also some other stuff too).

Please feel free to forward this post to anyone you know who might also benefit from the sale!

Oh, and let me know if you’re interested in buying an entire roll of heat-n-bond lite (perfect for applique work) or a bunch of warm & natural quilt batting (the nicest batting out there in my opinion). Or a pazzles inspiration cutting machine with lots of extra stuff like blades, cutting mats, and some paper.

I've been cleaning the house and it feels much better. :)
Not really CLEANING... just putting stuff away.

T comes home from Vegas in about an hour, and then I'm making us blueberry/strawberry pancakes for dinner. Maybe with some cheese grits. Or eggs. I wish we had some bacon, but we don't and the commissary is closed. :(  We do have turkey pepperoni though... maybe pepperoni/cheese omelets with the pancakes?

I didn't do any drawing this weekend (I intended to) and I didn't separate out (or photograph) my supplies for sale... but that's okay. At least I got some cleaning done!

And the drawing bug usually hits me all at once and I end up staying up all night making new designs. heh. I know it'll happen eventually so I'm not worried.

I'm trying to decide what to do with all of the things I'm planning on discontinuing from Joyful Abode. I could list them as wholesale lots on ebay or etsy, or offer a huge coupon code through my blog/email list and hope they go away that way (but the code would apply to everything in the store, not just the discontinued stuff... which I'm not sure how I feel about). I could mark everything down manually in my shop and put it into a discontinued/clearance section. What do you think?

Also, if you're confused about this... I'm not sure I ljed about it. I've pretty much decided that I need to focus on just the illustration stuff. Cards/stationery/recipe cards, that sort of thing. Because I want to eventually go in the direction of mostly-wholesale rather than mostly-retail, and that's the stuff it makes the most sense for, for me. So I'm really antsy to get rid of the other stuff SOON.

I'm gonna link the discontinued categories here, and if you're interested in an item or two or 10 let me know in the comments and make me an offer.

Zip pouches

Accessories

Kitchen Linens

Children's blankets

Market Bags

It's not a secret that I'm discontinuing these items, so PLEASE feel free to spread the word on your ljs, blogs, emailing people, etc... if you think they might be interested in anything! Anyone can make me an offer on these things, or ask for a big bulk discount if they want lots of stuff. :)

Every Sunday, my dad used to make a yummy homemade breakfast for all of us (I have three sisters), and we’d gather in the kitchen for some nice family time. It was awesome, and man… that guy can make some breakfast! Sometimes it was waffles or french toast, but probably the most frequent (and my favorite) was chocolate chip pancakes (with lil’ smokies breakfast sausages…mmm). This isn’t his recipe, but it’s durned good.

Step-by-Step Recipe here, and you can subscribe via livejournal if you want.

Have you ever had chocolate chip pancakes before? Is it "normal"? I always thought they were special. haha.
Do you have any favorite weekend traditions?

so, multiple times now... we've been hanging out in the living room and Zora has been on her new bed/mat thingy, and then Topher and I left the living room to go in the office...
A few minutes later, Zora comes into the office, dragging her bed/mat in her mouth. "Hey guys! Can I hang out in here with you? I brought my bed!"
SO SWEET.

I'm really glad she's getting the idea of a dog bed.
We got it for her because when we go to SC for the holidays she won't be allowed on the couches (she is allowed here) and we wanted her to have a soft place to hang out when we're all in the living room.
This is really precious.

And btw... had spaghetti squash for the first time today ( I thought I bought one before but it was a mis-labeled other kind of squash). It was awesome! I made a tomato/olive/garlic thing to put on top, along with grated parmesan cheese (from a real block of cheese, not a shaker can). It was VERY good... if you like spaghetti squash, what's your favorite way to prepare it?

and... it was supposed to possibly snow tonight but I think it's just going to rain. :(
