	I haven't really been posting much on lj, have i? Well... no promises that I'm going to start anytime soon. I'm posting a lot at my website, www.joyfulabode.com and I'm active on facebook, so... One CAN have too many social-networking sites. I've been reading journals, though not communities as much here... might pare it down a bit more though. Hi. Just wanted to say hi. haha. I probably won't delete my lj because it's useful to have an account here for the communities in case I have a question (extra kudos to dogsintraining and hip_domestics for their awesomeness) but... other than that? ehh.

	OMG I'm a finalist!
	I’m a finalist in a contest over at Mark’s Daily Apple... the concept was to poke fun at conventional wisdom (for food/fitness/lifestyle) by using a clever post-it note. Here’s my submission: I think I had a clever concept and great photo… AND I prefer the real post-it photos to the photoshopped ones (seems they take more preparation and effort, and they look better in my opinion). Anyway, if you agree with me and like mine the best (or if you just love me), Please vote for “NOT Wild-caught” in the poll!!! I could win some really cool barefoot shoes (vibram fivefingers). WOO HOO! I really really really want to win! SO excited! 	Changes for 2009 and a HUGE sale!
	Happy new year! Joyful Abode will be going through some exciting changes in 2009. I’m going to be focusing on expanding my illustration designs and creating more stationery kits, military stationery, all-purpose cards, and recipe cards. So during the first part of this year, I’m going to be clearing out discontinued items… starting with this sale! All non-illustration items are 40%-60% off, so grab them now before they’re gone! I’ll also be selling lots of supplies (mostly sewing, but also some other stuff too). Please feel free to forward this post to anyone you know who might also benefit from the sale! Oh, and let me know if you’re interested in buying an entire roll of heat-n-bond lite (perfect for applique work) or a bunch of warm & natural quilt batting (the nicest batting out there in my opinion). Or a pazzles inspiration cutting machine with lots of extra stuff like blades, cutting mats, and some paper.

	This weekend and discontinuing things.
	I've been cleaning the house and it feels much better. :) Not really CLEANING... just putting stuff away. T comes home from Vegas in about an hour, and then I'm making us blueberry/strawberry pancakes for dinner. Maybe with some cheese grits. Or eggs. I wish we had some bacon, but we don't and the commissary is closed. :( We do have turkey pepperoni though... maybe pepperoni/cheese omelets with the pancakes? I didn't do any drawing this weekend (I intended to) and I didn't separate out (or photograph) my supplies for sale... but that's okay. At least I got some cleaning done! And the drawing bug usually hits me all at once and I end up staying up all night making new designs. heh. I know it'll happen eventually so I'm not worried. I'm trying to decide what to do with all of the things I'm planning on discontinuing from Joyful Abode. I could list them as wholesale lots on ebay or etsy, or offer a huge coupon code through my blog/email list and hope they go away that way (but the code would apply to everything in the store, not just the discontinued stuff... which I'm not sure how I feel about). I could mark everything down manually in my shop and put it into a discontinued/clearance section. What do you think? Also, if you're confused about this... I'm not sure I ljed about it. I've pretty much decided that I need to focus on just the illustration stuff. Cards/stationery/recipe cards, that sort of thing. Because I want to eventually go in the direction of mostly-wholesale rather than mostly-retail, and that's the stuff it makes the most sense for, for me. So I'm really antsy to get rid of the other stuff SOON. I'm gonna link the discontinued categories here, and if you're interested in an item or two or 10 let me know in the comments and make me an offer.
